A team of 32 graduate and undergraduate students and volunteers from six countries have taken part in a seven-week excavation and field school program in Cyprus.
According to a press release by the Cyprus Department of Antiquities, the team completed the 2008 season of excavation organized by the Lycoming College Expedition to Idalion, in Nicosia district. The team worked under the direction of Dr. Pamela Gaber.
Work was done in the Lower City South area of Ancient Idalion in the Sanctuary of the Paired Deities. In previous seasons in this area fragments of limestone sculptures have been found.
